Story behind the song
I wanted to write a power ballad with good strings and piano, and a catchy chorus. I would LOVE to hear this recorded with a full orchestra one day, instead of the cheap keyboard string sound! ;)
Lyrics
I was just sitting there, thinking of the hours of all the days,
People pass me by, it's funny how their time it ticks away,
Do they see me here, a stranger to all the games they play,
Still I'll say what I say ..........
CHORUS
And you, help me through all that I do,
When you, lift me up when I'm blue,
It's so true, all I needed was you,
You're my meaning, my life, only you.
I saw you standing there, midnight in the ocean of the crowd,
But I was going down, a million different voices cried aloud,
You heard them all in me, you told them turn this ship around,
Cut my way through the grey ..........
CHORUS - M.8.
Yeah, I feel a change in me, lightning burning down a blackened sky,
Illuminates in me, a million voices bleed my spirit dry,
Now you believe in me, oceans can rise or they can die,
I don't care 'cause you're there ...........
CHORUS
Only you ( x3 )
