Story behind the song
Lyrics from an old song I lost started coming back to me recently, at least the ones I liked. It went to a riff and progression that eventually became "Kids", mine and JP's first song together. So I started rewriting this old song around a jam that I could never find lyrics for, and it's been growing on me.
Lyrics
"Numb"
Good Wood
(C)Shelton 2009
I'm all out of motiviation
My drive has taken off and left me here
I'm too knocked out for navigation
So I sit back and I let the auto-pilot stear
So what's the worst thing that could happen?
Most likely it's nothing at all
I've fallen to far for to climb back up
And I've climbed far too high for to fall
It seems I'm out of desperation
My inherant will is gone and it won't come back
I'm too choked up for conversation
My tongue is twisted and my lips are brittle cracks
So what's the worst thing that could happen?
Most likely it's somethimg so small
I've fallen to far for to climb back up
And I've climbed far too high for to fall
I'm too far gone for salutations
I've lost my hello's and goodbye's in a single wave
I'm filled with passive aggravations
Someone has wrecked all of my backroads that should not be- paved
But what's the worst thing that could happen?
When you're out of the game you can't drop the ball
I've fallen too far for to climb back up
And I've climbed far to high for to fall
Yes I've fallen too far for to climb back up
And I've climbed far to high for to fall
