Aaah! Interlaaken! The intoxicating mixture of Julie Andrews, Mountain Passes and Pedal Steel, played with the precision of a tightly sprung Swiss cuckoo clock.

Acoustic folk rock, singer-songwriter
I've been singing since I was able to gurgle but only playing the guitar since I was 11, when my "father homeward came one day and gave to me a toy" (Thanks, Tom). That was about 50 years ago give or take a few months and I've been singing, playing and writing songs on and off, during all that time.

Story behind the song
This is based on a real live country and western concert I went to when I was working in Interlaaken for a week or two, a few years back. I thought it would be funny to write a love song about the total opposites I observed. You might catch a glancing reference to the Boss in the lines: "In that cool Alpine town he sang of hot canyons filled with Cattle and Horses and gold. Of unfaithful women, and faithful old cars And nights on the range under skies filled with stars" Stuart played Pedal Steel on this track. I played an old Martn D-25 12 String, and a great Gibson J200 which has now also found a new home. This is one of the few songs I've written in waltz-time (3/4).
