Outrageously good prog tune from Fractal Rock.
60's acid/psychedelic rock & 70's progressive rock.
60's acid/psychedelic rock & 70's progressive rock.
Story behind the song
This tune was constructed using fragments of 2 classical pieces, one by Mozart and the other by Beethoven, along with a good old fashion I-IV-V-VI rock and roll progression. It has a melodramatic interlude, tied together with the classical/rock book ends. Gossamer Thread is the primary thread a spider uses to lay out it's web structure.
Lyrics
Life...Life, is...is,
hang - ing, by... a... thread...
There is a web
Brilliant and strong
Spider graced sat upon
Hanging by his mighty thread
There is web….
Hanging by his mighty thread
It began up above
A niche in the arch
Where a spider sat
Watching a curious march
Up from the valley to the hill they came
In the courtyard all fanfare
Trumpets blowing
Flags in the air
A celebration to behold
From dusk to dawn
The story goes…….
There is a web…
Spider graced sat upon
Their clothes adorned
With silk and gold
Flowing resplendit
The sight unfolds
Too candle-lit halls
Stained glass panes…
Music…
Laughter…
Food galore…
[Instrumental]
Life...Life, is...is,
hang - ing, by... a... thread...
There is a web
Brilliant and strong
Spider graced sat upon
Hanging by his silver thread
There is web….
Hanging by his silver thread
He sat and watched, he did compare
What he had with that down there
The beauty of that simple web
Flickering reflections, 'round his head
As they danced
He spun faster and faster
Curious patterns began to unravel
Intricate detail matched the spectacle below
His small gift he did bestow
There is a web…
Spider graced sat upon…
Life is hanging by a thread
