Story behind the song
This is the longer concept version of Familiar Path. (below is copied from the normal version data): We routinely got a hold of new gear (from friends, etc..). This particular song was written primarily using a couple pieces of gear we temporarily had in the studio. It all started with a simple bass line. The lyrics were inspired by a new relationship viewed from the perspective of a love cynic. Sometimes its hard to believe its real or that it is happening. It is probably one of the hardest things to get over in a new relationship when you are young. Just wondering about where things are going to end up, if you are going to get hurt and if you should follow your heart. Lots of people that heard this song loved it - yet it did not fit on the chains album we were putting together (unless we stuck at the very end). So the long version (uploaded separately) is how we were going to tie it into the concept.
