I like to use the musical style, contemporary jazz, to describe my music. My past releases in this vein include "Sky High" from Flight 7 (San Diego) and "I Can't Believe" from 26West (Portland OR). I now reside in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho and have just released my solo debut CD "Balboa Park," which I produced, composed and played keyboards. I'm very excited and proud of this CD. The music on "Balboa Park" ranges from instrumental latin jazz to R&B and funk and also includes three great vocal performances from Keely Whitney and Mike Winkle. "Balboa Park's" strengths are the melodies, harmonic structure and great grooves highlighted by incredible performances given by the many talented musicians that contributed to this CD.

Story behind the song
"Step It Up" started out as a instrumental tune with a completely different melody. I invited our talented lead singer, Keely Whitney, from our band, Gravity, over to my studio to work on some words and a different melody against the existing tracks. I wanted to keep the title, so we just went forward from that point. We had a lot of fun working on "Step It Up." Even though I have done a lot of writing on my own, I enjoy the process even more when there is a co-writer involved. It's interesting bouncing ideas off of each other. And I think the end result is, more often than not, better quality.
