Story behind the song
This song has had a life of it's own... Daniel Rodgers wrote a song that had the idea of an old man coming back to visit his old house and David Reuter heard it and asked if he could help him with it. It was TOTALLY different then. It was called "It ain't right". The story was there, but the lyrics were very different. I was then brought in to help and finally Daniel when he had ideas for producing it. Long story.. We have revamped the lyrics "One Last Time" and will have it re-sung in a couple of weeks. I will repost the new version when it comes available. I posted the new lyrics not the sung one since I will re-post anyway.

NEW LYRICS (Not Sung Lyrics)
One Last Time
Verse:
An old man knocked on my door
He said son I used to live here before
when I was a boy, Do you mind if I look around
I said come on in and have a drink
He said watera€™s fine I remember ita€™s cold na€™ sweet
From that spring out in the ground
Pre-Chorus:
Then he closed his eyes and said I can almost smell mamaa€™s biscuits bakina€™ in the kitchen I remember so well
Last I saw her it was nineteen sixty five, what I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
Chorus:
What I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
To take her by the hand for a long walk outside
Cause therea€™s still so much Ia€™d love to say to her and Ia€™d love to see her smile
What I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
Verse:
He said "You fixed her up, She's looking good"
I always hoped somebody would
You even got a swing in that big oak tree
My wife and I were married in that side yard "there"
We fell in love in that old gray barn
Then he winked at me and said you know what I mean
Pre-Chorus:
She passed away in her sleep last June and son let me tell you it was way too soon
She left this earth at eighty five but what I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
Chorus:
What I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
And to feel the love in her touch and the beauty in her eyes.
Therea€™s so much Ia€™d love to say to her and Ia€™d love to see her smile
And what I wouldna€™t give to see her one last time
Bridge:
I said come back now you know youa€™re always welcome here
But I never saw the old man again
But I can still hear his words every now and then
Chorus:
He said thank you for lettina€™ me see her one last time
Just standina€™ on this front porch brings tears to my eyes
Thata€™s how memories work sometimes they make you laugh or make you cry
But Ia€™m glad I got to see her one last time
