Monotonous Monday was the name of a weekly radio show I hosted last fall, at Drake University. This isn't actually the first episode, just #1 of the two I have on tape.

A trio of suburban white boys known as Bluto Prick (Jeff), Puffy Muff (Jason), and Fatal Frankie come together to reveal the thoughts that are within their warp
D-Town Mafia: Inno-fuckin'-vation. Maybe, maybe not. You be the judge. We enjoy writing and recording and we put it out here on the Web just in case anyone wants to hear it. You like it, cool. You hate, I couldn't give a fuck less.

Story behind the song
I decided to get into TV/Radio my sophomore year in college, in addition to my Writing major, so I ended up in an intro class that included hosting a one-hour weekly radio show. The first two or three weeks, I went at it alone, just to get the hang of being at the helm...and then, once I knew what I was doing, I decided to spice it up, by having my homie Fatal Frankie join me every week. So in a class where I had to do 15 radio shows, he appeared on 12 of them. It was entertaining as Hell this way, as it gave me someone to literally talk TO, instead of the non-existent listeners. At some point, we came up with the name "Monotonous Monday," because the show was on at 9AM Monday mornings and everyone is like "uuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhhhhh" on Mondays. There's a catalogue of songs, on the computer, that typically the DJs had to play from. The normal DJs aren't allowed to stray from that, I believe, but due to the class I was in, we were allowed to tinker with it... ...and boy did I tinker. I found the rap selection in the computer and played alot of that and then Frankie and I brought in a new burnt CD nearly every week and played ICP, Twiztid, etc. All that is provided here is the eight-and-a-half minutes of mic-time, NO MUSIC. Things that were required included: the intro, two live PSAs/commercials, weather at a quarter-after, and news at the bottom of the hour. We were also asked to add in a segment at a quarter-till, dealing with things happening around town. I didn't always do that, but I made up for it by adding in other segments such as "Fatal Frankie's Underground PICK! of the Week" and then the CD releases, courtesy of the Sunday Best Buy ad. Included in this show: CD releases and a discussion about LL Cool J, Native Funk as the Underground PICK! of the Week, a discussion about Halloween and Wal-Mart, and our "good byes" which includes the questioning of whether we'll be back next week or not.
