Lyrics
Americaine Written By Dan Edwards Dan Edwards ©2004 Well, you see my life, it's a lot like a flash of light. And at Eli Lilly, well they can make it flash right. They make it so I can face each day. I asked my pharmacist, she says it's the American way. So it must be O.K. Give me Prozac, so I can bear what I see. And maybe Paxil (I see it's on TV). Lord knows those Percocets, they sure take away my pain, But don't you worry, I never touch cocaine. Yeah, I'm living the American way. So you think six prescriptions might be a cause for concern, All I can say is you've got a lot to learn. You see I wear a smile nearly everyday, And my HMO, well they're the ones that pay. So it must be O.K. Give me Prozac, so I can bear what I see. And maybe Paxil (I see it's on TV). Lord knows those Percocets, they sure take away my pain, But don't you worry, I never touch cocaine. Yeah, I'm living the American way.

Great to see this song back on the list! ....not so sure the pharmaceutical companies feel the same! Lyrics are a brilliant editorial.
