As You Breathe
I met a man out on the road
His hair was flowing white
He said now child don't be afraid
It does not hurt to die
He put his arms around me
And whispered at my side
(He said) As you breathe I'll breathe in you
To keep your soul alive
We started on a journey
Into a great white light
It burned so hot it scorched my eyes
And took away my sight
He said son don't worry that you lost
The will to see
With these new eyes you'll look into
Far places led by me
As you speak I'll listen just for you
As you walk these hills my steps will guide you through
As you see I'll show you what to do
As you breathe, oh I alone, will breathe new life in you
It seemed like years we traveled on
Until we made it home
A towering golden mansion
On a hillside by a pond
But only seconds passed on Earth
As life came back in me
Before I opened up my eyes
To wonders now I see
