Story behind the song
I sometimes start with thinking of a title first and build a song around it. I was having trouble getting started so I asked my wife if she had any suggestions. Without hesitation she said "Innuendo". So I'm giving her credit as a co-writer on this one!
Lyrics
Innuendo
Words & Music by Tom Wilson
© 2008
She named her Innuendo
She was born of circumstance
To a child whose dreams at 17
Just died without a chance
She raised her on the west side
In a town so very small
Like their cold and damp one room apartment
With no pictures on the wall
Chorus:
Innuendo flya026 take the outbound track
Carry the weight of the world on your back
There never going to see that girl again
Innuendo flya026 your a bird on wing
If they said therea019re sorry now
It wouldna019t mean a damn thing
The cuts to deep
For any words to mend
Was it to much just to ask for one friend
To take your hand and say you understand
Voices wished her all the best
Cold judgmental eyes
Whose hearts and minds could not care less
Just sentimental lies
Her mother did all that she could
While sipping comfort from a glass
She saw no light and never would
Until the day her time had past
Chorus:
Innuendo flya026 take the outbound track
Carry the weight of the world on your back
There never going to see that girl again
Innuendo flya026 your a bird on wing
If they said therea019re sorry now
It wouldna019t mean a damn thing
The cuts to deep
For any words to mend
Was it to much just to ask for one friend
To take your hand and say you understand
