Poetry come to life through Backpacker Hip-Hop
Lyrics
Once upon a time
a girl with moonlight in
her eyes looked down on me,
and lit the way to a sycamore tree.
The breeze so gently pushed
their way about the leaves -
and I to her drew near
to feel her skin,
her lips so soft and
eyes so clear.
Everything was ours.
There in the midnight
I found our fingers
intertwined. Our bodies
lay like vines entangled
clinging to that moment. Once,
upon a time, I found
a girl with moonlight
in her eyes. She parted
her lips and shared her
love and life with me,
and since that night,
and since that sweetest rendevous
whenever I see the sycamore tree
I close my eyes and lie with her,
beneath the waning moon.
