The MacKay Choristers, a local choir, is performing this song. Unfortunately, the file is too big and the audio ends before the end of the song; however, most of it is there to be heard.

Retired, and enjoying it with my music! My philosophy regarding my music is K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid!): simple message, simple lyrics, simple melody so that anyone can sing along. If you're looking for a professional recording, you're in the wrong place. If you're capable of listening to a melody for consideration, then you're in the right place. I am always hoping that someone will see through my unprofessional singing and see the quality of the song and lyrics and decide to perform and/or record any of my songs. Of course, publishers are also welcome to publish my music. All of my songs are registered through SOCAN; so, if you are profiting from my music, please let your music affiliate (e.g. ASCAP) know. Thanks.

Story behind the song
Not long before he died, my father-in-law suggested that I write a song about our town. It took awhile, but I finally came up with a melody and lyrics that I liked and, I'm sure, that he would have liked.
Lyrics
GODERICH By Dale Matthies 2009 1. On the eastern shores of Huron Is a little town I love, High above the waters On the towring cliffs above. Its steeped in local history, In beauty it abounds, The sunsets are world famous, It mellows with summers sounds. CHORUS Goderich, oh Goderich Canadas prettiest town Like a beautiful woman In Ontarios bridal gown. Goderich, oh Goderich On the shores of Huron lake. I love this little town of mine, Of that make no mistake. 2. Far beneath the Huron waters There is salt that men do mine. On the lakes horizon The wondrous sunsets shine. The peaceful town is beckning To all from far and wide To live and work, fall in love In a town thats known worldwide. CHORUS 3. There is so much to see and do And people to befriend, Working, shopping, playing, And churches to attend. There is walking, biking, concerts, The list goes on and on. No wonder I love this town Now, will you not come along? CHORUS
