Story behind the song
When I got the call a year ago January that my mother, who had Alzheimer's for 12 years had passed away, I went outside to get cell reception. It was slightly rainy. I looked up and saw a rainbow. My mother's two favorite songs were Somewhere over the Rainbow and What a Wonderful World. I put a few aspects of that, the colors of the rainbow and her fading life into this song. It is about her as a person and what she did give me, The Colors of The Rainbow. It started out more as a poem and trying to write a verse with each color but grew from that. She wrote also. We included two of her poems on her memorial brochure. (I just got to this site, don't know all protocols. Can I link to my other sites, this project, or my other profiles? Took me two days to get this far!) (Also to note, on the other site I wanted to upload as CC-non derivative but they didn't have that choice. My intentions was for share alike music help, I get music they get my lyric help, NOT change my songs to be half theirs. Some don't agree with that viewpoint??? Which I don't understand another entire site disregarding one of the license options, so this is my choice always, CC-non derivative for all my songs. I have about 80, but in same boat with all, I can sing badly to give idea of how I want it to sound but I only write words.
