Propagating Ariosophical Paganism in the form of Symphonic Black Metal.
Currently, Adalruna consists of a sole member, Wulfhelm, whose musical direction is in a state of constant evolution, yet the goal has always been the same; the total reinstation of pagan traditions throughout Europe that since Christianisation have been denied hegemony. Since the late 19th and early 20th centuries in Europe, pagan revivalism (particularly that of the Norse tradition) has enjoyed a mainstream re-illumination from scholars and historians who were not just interested in the 'way of life' of their ancestors, but the psychology and world-view they had. This led to the rediscovery of wisdom which had been lost for many years. Since the Second World War and the defeat of Nazi Germany, the traditions and symbols of the ancients became almost taboo, and the writings of those responsible for the new dawn of paganism equally so. Fortunately, some were not phased by the ignorant attempting to silence them! Now entering the 21st century, the world is once more ready to embrace the ancient ways; since the birth of the internet and the wider accessibility of books and other 'alternative' media, people are once again discovering their past and are not ashamed to show their pride. The recent onslaught of 'Viking Metal' bands, from Europe and the United States of America (a place that has kept the flame of paganism alive just as much as Europe!) goes to show the strength of this new dawn. Some may see this as a 'trend', and for some bands and people that is undoubtedly true, but any interest is better than none at all, or worse yet, a dismissal of the ancient ways! Victory or Valhalla! Wotan Mit Uns!

Story behind the song
In Thrymheim, Skadi reigns; her thrall Bredi goes hunting with Sigi, a son of Odin, only to best him incurring his rage.
Lyrics
Ride forth, out across the world, Hunting for a prey to test your worth, Accompanied by a Thrall of Skadi's own; Bredi is his name. You find many a different prey, You kill all that you can slay, Your skill is beyond the word of man But Bredi... how can he have won?
