Story behind the song
How far would you go for a friend???
Lyrics
Verse 1
About 12am I got a call from my friend/
Tellin me him and his girl have come to an end/
At first I was shocked but then I asked why/
Then he told me that his girl was sleepin with another guy/
I told him "stay strong" but that wasnt enough/
As he spoke on the phone he just started to erupt/
Sayin it was more than an everyday break up/
When I see this guy again Im breakin his face up/
I told him stay calm but he just wasnt listenin/
He said that the next time he sees him man hes killin him/
I knew he was jealous, but this was too far/
So I told him Hold on as I hopped in the car/
I hung up the phone, drove over to his place/
I didnt know what to expect as I continued to race/
I got to his house and just knocked on the door/
As soon as he opened it, he said that it was war/
Verse 2
Now its 1am and my friends going crazy/
I told him dont be stupid man, think about your baby /
He just looked me in the eye and said this has to be done
A few seconds later he pulled out a gun/
Put it down I screamed as he went and cocked it back/
He turned around and said yo man aint you got my back???/
Of course I do, but dont do something that youll regret/
Then he told me, he got to pay for his disrespect/
Before I knew it now we headed to the car/
I rushed after him just so I could keep him calm/
As I hopped in, he glanced over to the side/
And asked me, So what man are you gonna ride???/
I just nodded my head not knowing what to do/
This is a guy Ive known since I was about two/
I couldnt just sit back and let him go alone/
So I rode with him as he drove up to this guys home/
Verse 3
As soon as we arrived, my friend didnt move/
He just stared at the house lookin into every room/
Just waiting, and then we seen a dark figure/
So he pulled out his gun and just cocked back the trigger/
He jumped out the car and then just started squeezing/
Sending shots through the window, all I heard was screaming/
But he wasnt done, he reloaded his gun/
And let them bullets fly, till all that was left was one/
As we left the scene, what we didnt see/
Was witnesses calling the police as we fleed/
Two days later theres a message from the feds/
Sayin the man that my friend tried to kill wasnt dead/
And what was even worse is I got half the blame/
Cause I was at the scene so they put them in the frame/
So now Im going down for something I tried to fight/
Its crazy how your life can change in one night/
