Story behind the song
Flashback to 1994 or 1995. "Gentle Breeze" was crafted as a poem about a breeze spirit that took pleasure in visiting various countries around the world. Fastforward. 2002. "Gentle Breeze" is an underground track replayed for about five pairs of ears before its eventual debut as the final track on The Stars Shine Bright Tonight. The difference? Any inkling of the former wanderer is almost completely out the window. The song "Gentle Breeze" is a melancholic piece about having faith, about holding on to what a person believes in, in proving to others what one is here for. Some may interpret it as a song written towards a friend who has taken a lot of chances. Likeless, the song is also self-reflective. Despite the minor-tinged melody, "Gentle Breeze" flows by like pep-talk, cheering someone on for sticking to what they believe in.
Lyrics
Gentle breeze - you're flying free Someday they all will see Someday you'll find your shining star Like a leaf in the wind Go where nobody's been You are forever in my heart Interlude Gentle breeze - go on and be Be more than they believe Have faith and you will travel far Gentle breeze - you're flying free Someday they all will see Someday you'll find your shining star
