For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Story behind the song
Written for the 5090 FAWN 2009. The vocal is really crappy. I don't have a Rock voice and there's too much reverb.
Lyrics
Gypsy Heart (v1) Girl you gotta gypsy heart, it keeps wand?rin? It?s never gonna settle down Yeah you gotta gypsy heart, it keeps searchin? It?s always looking around You stay long enough to get what you?re needin? Then the smile turns into a frown Lovin? overnight, until the morning light Then you?re nowhere to be found As the dawn is breaking, your leavin? is the only sound Chorus A gypsy heart, no one will ever own it You won?t give it up though sometimes you?ll loan it You?d never be happy if both feet were planted Freedom?s a call that you don?t take for granted You stop for a while, but you never can stay Your gypsy heart has to be on its way (Yeah you gotta gypsy heart) (v2) Girl you gotta gypsy heart, it?s solitary Dances to its own melody Yeah your gypsy heart, makes its own music A one-player symphony You?ve always been a lover, but you?ve never been in love It?s something that you just can?t do You?re living your life just the way you want to No one you owe an answer to You can be a singer, a player or a dancer too Repeat Chorus ? 2009 Alan D.
