Story behind the song

I was on vacation and i was writing while my dad was driving and i was trying to think of a song were i could relate to people that have hard core drug addictions and try to reach out to them. The first thing that came into my head is that it's not worth all the trouble and hardships a person goes through. Then i came up with the corus "is it worth it" and went on from there
