Iron Horse - Hard Rockin' Southern Country Metal
"Iron Horse is the bastard child of all the music we grew up listening to," comments IH frontman Ronnie Keel. "Like any band, we've taken the sum of all our influences, added what turns us on about music, and come up with our own brand. We want to hold on to the energy and power of Arena Rock while embracing the honest lyrical qualities of Country music...I come from a redneck blue collar background, and that flavors our music with the Southern spirit. "I do a lot of interviews promoting the band and what we do, and usually the most difficult question is 'What kind of music do you play?' - so we came up with the term Hard Rockin' Southern Country Metal. "Our drummer, Gaetano Nicolosi, is a native of Italy. He and I met in Sicily in 1999 and started playing gigs together over there. It was a great experience, because it was the first time in my adult life that I was playing just for the love of music - it wasn't about career moves and marketing, it was just about having a great time doing what we loved to do. We played rock, country, metal, pop, whatever - and the audiences loved it. I started to see that these elements could all be combined into one band as long as that band was built around four things: good songs, good musicians, good friends, and good times. And that's what Iron Horse is all about."

Lyrics
Well the call came in at 1 am to Sheriff Joe Lynn There’s trouble at your sister’s house, and I’m sure it’s him again He found her on the bedroom floor Bleeding with a busted chin That’ll be the last time that son of a bitch is three sheets to the wind Well Joe called his deputy, his younger brother Bill Said meet be by the railroad tracks behind old Copper Hill If God won’t kill this man, then damn I will It’s an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth There ain’t enough excuses to chase the 90 proof Tonight I’m not the long arm of the law, I’m next of kin That’ll be the last time that son of a bitch is three sheets to the wind Well the dust blew and the gravel flew, as they sped on down the road They knew just where to find him at Old Man Sutton’s grove As the truck rolled to a stop and Joe jumped out With his gun in his hand They waded through the shadows by the creek And they made their plan It’s an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth There ain’t enough excuses to chase the 90 proof Tonight I’m not the long arm of the law, I’m next of kin That’ll be the last time that son of a bitch is three sheets to the wind As they stepped from the woods, they didn’t make a sound They were standing right behind him, when the bottle hit the ground As he cried out, Oh Joe – please don’t do me in But the shots rang out again and againIt’s an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth There ain’t enough excuses to chase the 90 proof Tonight I’m not the long arm of the law, I’m next of kin That’ll be the last time that son of a bitch is three sheets to the wind That was the last time that son of a bitch was three sheets to the wind
