Story behind the song
Third scene,
The scenic screen goes up and with music crescendo a procession is piling up in to the dorm. Leading is Nadia with other girls, all carrying a beautiful white bridal gown and traditional tiara. Volodia bringing for Misha a black jacket and a tie. Girls create from white sheets a privacy screen for Raisa to slip her gown on.
Justice of a peace of UofM is starting the ceremony.
All gang is enjoying the wedding and the act ending in choir and organ crescendo with
final words of all, wishing young lovers, for their love to stay young for ever.
My remark to this:Mikhail and Raisa Gorbachev were actually married on campus of Uof M
under similar circumstances and their romance lasted till Raisa’s death of leukemia in 1999.
I would like to dedicate this act to a memory of a great lady and a scientist
