A meditative, minimalist, instrumental flutesong. I recorded it with the help of my Bansuri (Indian bamboo flute) and my old Ensoniq EPS sampler.

Wukimon is a Swedish indietronica group originally founded in 2002 by members Jonas Einarsson, David Jacobsson, Olof Sellgren and Jonas Borell. Most of Wukimon’s songs are rather mellow electronica songs with influences from indiepop and trip hop as well as folk. Some of the instrumental tracks would however be better categorized as 'contemporary classical minimalism' in the same vein as Steve Reich and John Cage.

Story behind the song
About two days after arriving in India I decided to seek out a sitar Guru in the town of Udaipur as I wanted to learn how to play the sitar. It so happened that the great bansurimaster Hariprasad Chaurasia was playing a concert in the city palace a few days later. The concert was invitation only and my Guru, being one of the top musicians in town, had recieved a couple of invitation cards. He passed one of these on to me. So it happened that at the first concert I ever saw of Indian music I ended up seated right behind the King of the Mughals watching the greatest flautist in all of India! I was amazed at how expressive a simple bamboo-pipe with holes in it could be. A few months later I picked up a Bansuri and it, rather than the sitar, came to be my main indian instrument. I recorded the song 'Flute of Krishna' with the help of my Bansuri and my old Ensoniq EPS sampler a couple of years later.
