Lyrics
The Two Thieves Verse 1: On a hill outside Jerusalem two thieves hung on the cross Paying for their sins with their lives And between them hung a man who claimed to be the Son of God And the people stood around to watch Him die. Chorus: They say that He saved others, that He made the blind to see That He walked upon the waters of the Sea of Galilee If He’s healed so many others let Him heal Himself instead He won’t fool anybody When He’s dead. Verse 2: And the thief upon the left They had to drag him through the street From the prison at the bottom To the Hill called Calvary And he cursed his Jewish brothers And he cursed his Roman guards And he heard them mock The man they came to see. Chorus: They say that You saved others That You made the blind to see That You walked upon the waters of The Sea of Galilee If You’ve healed so many others If You’re who You claim to be Then save us from this death and agony. Verse 3: But the thief upon the right Rebuked him on the left “Don’t you fear God, Seeing we are all condemned? And you and I are guilty And we both deserve to die But the man between Is innocent of sin.” Chorus: “I believe that You saved others That You made the blind to see That You walked upon the waters of The Sea of Galilee Lord, You’ve healed so many others Could You save a thief like me? When You come into Your own Remember me.” Verse 4: On a hill outside Jerusalem Two thieves hung on the cross One fighting death with passion One welcoming with sighs. For between them hung a man Who was the Holy Lamb of God Who said “Today you’ll stand With Me in paradise.” Chorus: And it’s True that He saved others That He made the blind to see That He walked upon the waters of The Sea of Galilee And it doesn’t matter what you’ve done He won’t turn you away Won’t you open up your heart to him today?
