Story behind the song
My friend Jon Dember wrote the music and titled it Rusty Volvo and then gave me permission to write lyrics
Lyrics
I saw a rusty volvo down on Route 13
I saw a rusty Volvo and it used to be clean,
A slippin and a slidin through the slushy snow
a slippin and a slidin out of control
My friend told me to meet her at the library,
She said that she woud be driving a rusty Volvo,
But when I got there there were 19 rusty Volvos,
She forgot to tell me the color,
But then she honked at me,
And I got in her rusty Volvo,
It was yellow,
I saw a rusty Volvo parked at the day care center,
I saw a rusty Volvo cruising Stewart Park
I saw a rusty Volvo in downtown Seattle,
Driving around looking for a parking spot,
And I saw a rusty Volvo parked at the food coop,
And the dog who was locked inside looked wy too hot,
so I let him out, just kidding.
I saw a rusty volvo down on Route 13
I saw a rusty Volvo and it used to be clean,
A slippin and a slidin through the slushy snow
a slippin and a slidin out of control
