Track 11- Gone Fishin' with Andy
Artist picture
The 15th anniversary internet only reissue of "Gone Fishin with Andy" includes all of the tracks from the original cassette only (approximately 100 made and distributed) album issued in 1994 by Andy Turits who then became "the artist currently known as &y" and is now planet andy. Also included here are 3 previously unreleased bonus tracks and 2 previously unreleased music videos. The original cassette art was designed by Lyndon Lorenz. We bought a couple of fish from the seafood store and Lyndon shot a roll of film out on the fire escape of our building in Hoboken, NJ. David Decampo provided the archived digital master of "People Who Think (version 1)". Michael Thomson helped me rescue the live from the Snowgoose tracks included here as well as my entire set performed that day which was originally recorded on a DAT tape.

Story behind the song
The rhythm box beat that opens the song comes from a Hammond Vari-Chord 64 which I bought for 12 dollars at the Temple Beth-El flea market. The massive percussion sounds come from the EPS samples Ergo Drums and Clank Stuff. Though its mostly one note I really like how the bass worked out. A chronic conspiracy follower, I had been reading "The Search for Amelia Earhardt" by Fred Goerner. Goerner posed the possibility that if Earhardt and Navigator Noonan's Lockheed Electra survived an emergency or accidental plunge into the Pacific, survivors may have swam to a nearby island. Their disappearance remains a mystery.
