Story behind the song
This is the title Track Resilience. Hence the EP title “Resilience” This song pretty much has the same meaning as “One Reason”. Its about the break up of my old band Destracore. I guess you could say that those two songs belong together their lyrics are about how I’m dealing with and how I have dealt with the demise of the band and the many people I became very close to and no longer are in contact with.
Lyrics
Resilience Lyrics by Don Potter, Music by Jared Collins Vivid and vague its been ten years of blood and sweat Nothing to show nothing to forget Lost friends and broken lives I try to forget those bitter fights that always seem to shadow the good times Visions fade but the pictures remain The Sovereignty I scream your name Now my past cant hold me down Latched on like a parasite my demons reemerge Reaching out to them, reaching for their hands Beware I’m relentless Now its time for me to rise metal has a chosen one Only one thing left weeping memories I release this pain with my screams Now my past cant hold me down With blood on my words and pain in my hands Resilience my last stand With resilience the ache has a hold on me So I raise my fist with intensity Vivid and vague its been ten years of blood and sweat Nothing to show nothing to forget Lost friends and broken lives I try to forget those bitter fights that always seem to shadow the good times 31 still sweating blood The ache of my family that was Now past cant hold me down With blood on my words and pain in my hands Resilience my last stand
