Acoustic rock and folk rock with country, blues, and American Songbook influences.
Formerly "Dr. C and the Stratocats," I'm now on a solo career as "Dr. C," but I had to change my stage name here because someone else had already claimed it. My music strives for melody above all else; I strive to make my songs memorable, so you can whistle a tune immediately. I see melody as the element most lacking in contemporaryr music. I love Sinatra and the Beatles, Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, anyone who can write a memorable "tune."

Story behind the song
In working through my first divorce this song was born.
Lyrics
Nothing Lasts Forever You pull your nylons down at night And lounge around by candlelight, Your hair is an electric fright Fed by humidity; Your rolls of fat are aging now, You govern like some sacred cow The Hindus worshiped in a dream Of bright fertility, But I can't lie to myself no more; Things dona€™t bind us that bound before; Nothing lasts forever, Nothing lasts forever, Not even love, especially love. You never realized the fact Life's not a daily heart attack, And just because you turn your back Won't make things go away; If I were half as blind as you I wouldn't feel the pain I do; Since ignorance is bliss for you, I hope you never see. You know I never could leave before; I was too scared to walk out that door. Nothing lasts forever, Nothing lasts forever, Not even love, especially love. I didn't want to make you cry, I didna€™t want to make you weep; I wish I could have said goodbye By kissing you once in your sleep, But there's no knife that's sharp enough To sever these ties with one cut, The wounds we bear will heal up But not for a long, long time. You know I wish that I could have stayed; But I lay too long in the bed we made; Nothing lasts forever, Nothing lasts forever, Not even love, especially love Not even love, especially love Not even love, especially love
