K-Gi has been writing for over 30 years. He resides in Canada. He has been encouraged and urged by friends and fellow musicians to share his creations. Hence, a debut album! 'If It Were Not So...I Would Have Told You!' speaks to all music lovers of various genres. A Journey from sandy beaches to salmon-filled rivers; from uplifting parties to candle-light dinners. Love Ballads, jazzy Latin guitar instrumentals, classical themes, R&B and Rap, African dance and drum music, Pop, Rock and Reggae. A diversity of genres is also reflected in K-Gi's lyrics, which paint a wide array of different pictures. From excursions in 'Paradise' to bouncy fun-filled party scenes, from social critical issues to father-daughter relationships. At present K-Gi is working on his second album, which will include several Reggae and crossover songs. He has recently written a Cumbia instrumental for a documentary about travelling a long forgotten pole-post road in Mexico. K-Gi also works with a well known dancer in France and provides the music for her African Dance show and dance classes. He feels that a good marriage between words and music (prosody) can if only briefly, uplift the human spirit and give it wings to fly. Yet, as important as music is to him, he envisions it as ‘just a slice of bread on the table of life’. Though somewhat of an introvert, K-Gi’s altruistic nature immediately surfaces when engaged in lively discussions. He asserts that no one will truly be safe, well-off and at peace until we ALL are! He believes that we are all connected to each other whether we know it or not; like it or not. In particular, he mentions how quickly we forget where we have come from once we become successful; forget what it is like to be hungry once we are full; or what it means to be cold while we are warm. However, once we are loved we never forget. It is therefore incumbent upon us all to do all that we can to spread love, peace, joy and compassionand to contribute towards the reduction of tragedies and sorrows globally. It is K-Gi’s ambition that music will afford him the opportunity to make a differenceno matter how small. Drop by drop is the bucket filled. Though many are called, few are chosen. “If it were not so he would have told you!” K-Gi Kage

Story behind the song

Lyrics
A BOY DON’T ALWAYS KNOW WHAT HE WANTS 1. He keeps a picture in his head Not Black or White it seems Yet, for reasons that he dread At night it colours all his dreams 2. Rows and rows of fancy domes On mountains seem to float Overlooking stately homes And Port without a yacht or boat CHORUS A ‘Cause a boy don’t always know what he wants Yes a boy don’t always know what he wants 3. A Princess walks her ghost-like form The beach in bikini Trying hard to fit the norm By eating mostly raw Zucchini 4. A Starfish on a starlit night Where stilt-legged Urchins dance A silhouette projects a lonely sight Awaiting one more chance. CHORUS A ‘Cause a boy don’t always know what he wants Yes a boy don’t always know what he wants BRIDGE oh! Happiness waits for those who cry Those who search the earth the sea and sky To find faith, hope and clarity A bit of reciprocity CHORUS B ‘Cause a boy don’t always know what he wants And a girl can’t help if she takes no chance When the boy don’t even know what he wants Then a girl can’t ever know what he wants. FLUTE SOLO 5. No more a picture in his head For Cupid to redeem For his reasons are quite dead And he no longer has a dream CHORUS A + BRIDGE + CHORUS B (repeat Chorus B)
