i lost the moon in my shadowy vision
over the axes it swept away light and time
reaching to the edges of coherence
before turning back
back it came hurtling towards my thoughts
furious at the lack of innocence
dissapointed at shallow predictability
not deserving of the moon it stays
giving me hope in times of need
when my voice is silenced and ideas scorned
when that vile poison is poured into my ear
deafening me to reason and understanding
corrupting my being and anchoring my doubt
the moon smiled at me and i smiled back
with a wave it caressed my spirit
lifting me to stories untold
driving my thirst past the point of knowledge
making me hungry for wisdom
making me hungry for the reality I can't face
i am riding on its heavenly aura
drifting in its sea of serenity
my thoughts take up space
and time is constantly renewed
enlightenment dances before my eyes
brilliant lights fuzzy with warmth
i can see my smile through these eyes
it is content, content to be aware
content to be happy, content to be itself
my smile, beautiful in its simplicity
will never cease to exist
it's job completed it keeps working on
the sanctuary lamp of my soul
the moon used to speak to me from its heavenly berth
it is silent now, and for that i am grateful
my lessons have been learned
and myself has been gained
leaving the moon to smile down
on a world of contentment
