Jazz-influenced progressive rock.
artist is a middle and high school science teacher residing in Sterling, VA, USA. He switched to teaching after a career in medicinal chemistry. He is a member of the Mvskoke (Creek) Nation, a Native American tribe originally indigenous to the Southeastern United States. As a musician, he plays bass, guitar, Hammond organ, keys, and various drums. Many of these appear on his first album, , it focuses on a jazz-influenced rock sound; however, like , it is almost exclusively built using odd time signatures (such as 5/4 and 7/8). In this way, although it was born in a different world, it retains its connection to the past. One more move: this time to a new house. It was a difficult change, and out of the struggle was born a new sound. is just that: a collection of jazzy, funky, cool -- and most of all, original -- compositions. In addition to the works above, Bruce is also on , where he releases raw (unmixed) tracks from his albums and other works for use by remix artists.

Story behind the song
I can't believe it. I made it. This is #14. I'm exhausted. For the last 22 days, my music engines have been locked on full burn. I'm far out of my usual orbit. I've gone further than I thought I could, and explored more musical territory than I imagined I'd be able to. So here's the closing act. If you've read the liner notes for the past few songs, you know I've been kind of down. (In the same way that Godzilla gets "kind of" angry at Tokyo.) I decided to close out FAWM 2009 on a positive note. So here's my happy song. "Tell Me, Madame Fortune Teller." I'm not going to ruin the mood by telling you what it's about, really. Just pretend it's a good fortune :D For those of you who were into Babylon 5, let me close out with a quote from Lorien ("Into the Fire", season 4, episode 6) -- :: To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, :: and love, and companionship, :: because we know it to be transitory, :: of the moment. :: We know it will turn to ash. :: Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love :: is eternal. :: You should embrace that remarkable illusion. :: It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received. The scores are all even at the end. And with that, I close. *New*: This song was eventually remixed and made part of my sixth Jamendo album, In Unexpected Places.
