Sacramento Area original rock adult contemporary style band. Classic flavor for the new millenium.
In a world where rock has become a victim of stagnation and screaming, The Trist supplies the solution to the problem by using great songwriting and melody! The Trist is a Sacramento, CA area band showcasing the talents and imagination of its members developed through years of musical experience. The Trist produces all-original songs ranging from mid-tempo rock story telling to heartfelt ballads and rockin’ blues. Songs with drive and an easy hook to catch your ear. Fitting somewhere between adult contemporary and an edgier sound reminiscent of classic ‘70s & '80's era rock bands, The Trist has created an Adult Rock sound all their own! It’s original classic rock for the new millenium. Comprised of an experienced trio of musicians well versed in both cover and original bands, The Trist creates a fun and exciting sound without being overpowering to any age of listener. Our music has been loosely categorized as a mixture of The Eagles, Dave Matthews Band and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Rick Watson Godin Acoustic/Electric Guitar & Vocals Rick is an accomplished player & vocalist and active member of the local music community. Chuck O’Bear Drums & Vocals Chuck has been an active member of many groups as both a regular and guest player. Chuck’s talents are varied as he shares a passion for music as a drummer and songwriter as well as thespian aspirations. Comfortable with many styles of music, Chuck is a solid contributor to both the creative and performance aspects of the band. A true professional. As an actor, Chuck has appeared in many local productions and even has a big screen appearance in that 90s classic film: Rocky & Bullwinkle. Pat Thompson Bass Guitar & Vocals Pat is a guitar player at heart, but is enjoying the bass in this project. A singer and songwriter for nearly 30 years he and Rick have developed a synergy that lends itself to the tightness and dynamics of the band. Lyrics
The Longer I Stay Words & Music by Rick Watson Stopped in for an hour About a year go You asked me to stay How could I say no Well now something’s changed I see it in your eyes It took me too long To finally realize, and now I realize The longer I stay the less I feel at home Too many dreams have gone by The longer I stay the less I feel at home It’s too late. I’m too tired to try You stare at the ceiling And I stare at the walls I feel like we’re strangers We never talk at all And its cold in our bedroom And its perfectly clear I shouldn’t be with you So why am I standing here, Tell me why are we standing here Because the longer I stay the less I feel at home Too many dreams have gone by The longer I stay the less I feel at home It’s too late. I’m too tired to try There’s nothing left to say There’s nothing left to do Things just turned out that way Some dreams don’t come true. The longer I stay the less I feel at home Too many dreams have gone by The longer I stay the less I feel at home It’s too late. I’m too tired to try It’s too late and I’m too tired to try
