Sacramento Area original rock adult contemporary style band. Classic flavor for the new millenium.
In a world where rock has become a victim of stagnation and screaming, The Trist supplies the solution to the problem by using great songwriting and melody! The Trist is a Sacramento, CA area band showcasing the talents and imagination of its members developed through years of musical experience. The Trist produces all-original songs ranging from mid-tempo rock story telling to heartfelt ballads and rockin’ blues. Songs with drive and an easy hook to catch your ear. Fitting somewhere between adult contemporary and an edgier sound reminiscent of classic ‘70s & '80's era rock bands, The Trist has created an Adult Rock sound all their own! It’s original classic rock for the new millenium. Comprised of an experienced trio of musicians well versed in both cover and original bands, The Trist creates a fun and exciting sound without being overpowering to any age of listener. Our music has been loosely categorized as a mixture of The Eagles, Dave Matthews Band and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Rick Watson Godin Acoustic/Electric Guitar & Vocals Rick is an accomplished player & vocalist and active member of the local music community. Chuck O’Bear Drums & Vocals Chuck has been an active member of many groups as both a regular and guest player. Chuck’s talents are varied as he shares a passion for music as a drummer and songwriter as well as thespian aspirations. Lyrics
Here Without You (Sad Café) Words and music by Chuck O’Bear The nights are dark and the days are long And I wonder how I get by without you Sitting here with a head full of memories It’s the only thing that helps me get through I close my eyes and I turn away Some things you lose you’ll never find another day So I sit here in a sad café Waiting for my love to be over and done I sit here and I think About the ways I should have told you I loved you The world’s a hard place And I don’t want to face it here without you Rainbows may not last forever But after a hard rain they always come back A change of seasons brings a change of mind And I don’t see last summer ever coming back I sit here and I think About the ways I should have told you I loved you The world’s a hard place And I don’t want to face it here without you What I’d give to see you sleeping What I’d do to make you call How I’d love to hear you laughing How I’d love to see your shadow on the wall The nights are dark and the days are long And I wonder how I get by without you A change of seasons brings a change of mind And I don’t see last summer ever coming back I sit here and I think About the ways I should have told you I loved you The world’s a hard place And I don’t want to face it here without you
