The throne is given to a complex man after God's own heart. He is paradoxically both brave warrior, faithful servant, gentle poet, lovely musician and humble King. He proves perfect to carry the lineage of the promised Messiah.

God's Word presented in song and verse.
in those quiet times spent alone with Him and in His Word. After nine years composing, arranging and recording... The Alpha & Omega Suite was finished at the end of 2008 and is ready for distribution in 2009! The Suite consists of thirty five parts which span two hours and forty minutes. This inspired music praises God and His Word; introduces His laws; His doctrines; His decrees; His covenants; and His grace to those who may never be exposed to His written Word otherwise. No glory, honor, or prestige is given to this earthly vessel, only to the One Who deserves it and is worthy of it!

Story behind the song
How hard it is to choose between one good thing and another, especially when one appears to be as equally good as the other. The decision is made easier when one choice is obviously much better than the other. The same principle can also apply to choosing between one person and another. When hiring for a job position, an employer doesn't have a problem when one applicant is head and shoulders above the rest but when all are equally qualified, then the choice becomes much more difficult. When the time had come to replace Israel's first king, who had been a spiritual failure in God's sight, there were many qualified men in which to pick from. But when God made the choice, He surprised all, including the prophet Nathan, by picking the youngest and least of Jesse's twelve sons. To all observers it must have appeared to be an unusual choice. Why had God sidestepped the obvious choices and gone with a youthful and apparently unqualified boy who's main skill was in taking care of his father's sheep? But the rugged David was God's choice and is referred to in skripture as "beloved of God" and "a man after God's own heart." A consistent theme throughout skripture is that 'God doesn't look on the outward appearance the way men do but He focuses on what's inside the person. He's concerned about our character and willingness to follow His ways. David was just such a person! In retrospect, David is considered to be Israel's greatest and most godly king. He had the awesome task of stepping into the shoes of King Saul, who had started out on the right track but later proved unstable both mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Though Saul had sons who could easily be heirs to the throne, God chose to purge Saul's family and bring in a leader who could reign competently and more importantly would reflect godly moral ethics and standards. David would be just such a man! Throughout his life, his heart remained close to God in all circumstances and conditions. Even at times of 'falling away', David always turned back to God with repentance and sorrow for his wrongful actions. The famous story of the youthful David slaying the giant Goliath portrays so much more than 'underdog conquers oversize bully'. It personifies the very makeup of a person trusting God to deliver and act in accordance to His Word. It also shows the importance of not only having faith in the Lord but knowing Him so intimately that we understand His countenance and divine nature. And just in the same way that we are appalled when a beloved family member is unjustly ridiculed, mocked and scorned, David is equally angered at the gall of his oversized adversary shouting threats against God and His people. Jehovah works through David because he is capable and spiritually humble which qualifies him for the job! More important than placing David on Israel's throne, God chose his lineage to reign-in the promised Messiah! In this respect, David is in the direct genealogical flow which had been promised to his forefather Abraham hundreds of years prior. Also like Abraham, David displays spiritual faith and obedience which permeate his very being. Penning numerous Psalms (spiritual songs) give insight into the spirit and nature of David. We get a glimpse of him at his joyous peaks and also at his most despond ant valleys. There are few other historical figures from David's time period in which we know so much about their deepest feelings and inner being. David shines as an example to us all!
Lyrics
(VERSE 1) A harp, a sword, a hero's hand. Chosen from above to do the Master's plan. Honesty, humility, a humble heart. Given to the throne a fresh new start. (CHORUS 1) He had the strength of a warrior. The loving concern of a shepherd. The soul of a poet for the glory of God. Obedient to God with His loyalty. Who lifted His place to that of royalty. As he carried out high standards of morality. (VERSE 2) Fearlessly killed lions, bears and a Philistine giant. His wrath poured out against all the blaspheming defiant. Conquered many armies and captured the city of Jerusalem. Yet with a gentle love he penned sonnets of prose and the psalms. (CHORUS 2) He overcame many great obstacles. Gave credit to God for his victories. And for his wrongs he repented with sincerity. Anointed with oil by the prophet Samuel. Delivered from harm just like Daniel. And his attitude towards sin forms our manual. (BRIDGE) Oh Lord, help me to be like David and not like Saul. Appearances don't impress You: who is fat or thin or who is short or tall. Help me faithfully obey. As I listen and heed Your call. From David's throne Your Messiah reigns as eternal King of all. (VERSE 3) He was the youngest and least important of all Jesse's many sons. Yet of all the mighty men, David was God's chosen one. His harp could soothe the soul of those crying in their anguish. Daily going into battle against enemies he would vanquish. (CHORUS 1) He had the strength of a warrior. The loving concern of a shepherd. The soul of a poet for the glory of God. Obedient to God with His loyalty. Who lifted His place to that of royalty. As he carried out high standards of morality. (VERSE 4) As promised to Abraham, and again to David's lineage fraternal. Our entire world is blessed from his kingdom lasting eternal. God promised His people a place for rest and a home of their own. Strength and might and power are the chronicles of the throne. (ENDING) From David's throne Your Messiah reigns as eternal King of all. From David's throne Your Messiah reigns as eternal King of all. From David's throne Your Messiah reigns as eternal King of all. REPEAT TO FADE
