Mellow and light with a four on the floor feel. I could picture hearing Sting sing on this... the song features Frank Reina on drums, Chris Barron on keys, Brad Cummings on bass, and Zip 100 on guitar

Art chasing sound.
The band is me. I have been a musician since age 7 (i'm 44 now), and that's pretty much all I did. By age 32 I was working in an average of 6 bands at a time and still practicing 36 hours a week. That's when I got nerve damage in both my arms and couldn't use them for 5 years...not for eating, lifting, playing...anything. 2 surgeries and 3 more years recoup, and I am back in short bursts. I write and track everything in 1 take as I can't play for long. Guitar is my main instrument (studied it the most), but have been playing drums and bass since age 10, and have actually worked the most as a drummer. I can't really use my left arm much so i drum with my fingers. It gives it a unique sound. (Don't worry, it's not wimpy... I can still break sticks!)

Story behind the song
This song is alive jam from the band we had in 1997 to back up my wife. We scribbled out a quick chart, hit record and played. When we were finished jamming, we all walked out of the studio to take a break and talk, and were asking each other what we should call this song. We all looked outside in my backyard together and witnessed the sight... our German Shepherd was taking a crap in the backyard, and the miniature pincher was squatting down underneath his tail eating the poop before it hit the ground. We were all immediately disgusted, and someone shouted out the words soft swirl and a song title was born. I always heard this as a vocal song, but the right singer and vocals have never come forward. It does work as an instrumental.
