A varied, rather short, through-composed piece with a few recurring themes, but no actual repeats.
[the following is copied and pasted from my main page] As a composer, I'm pretty much a composer on the side. When I have an idea, I write it down and go with it, but I don't focus all my musical energy into being a composer. I actually go through phases, or "seasons" as I would call if, of composing. I may compose very solidly for a few months on end and then not compose a thing for months on end. I am very much passionate about the compositions I do write. I also begin virtually every composition with pencil and staff paper, only transferring it onto an electronic medium (such as MakeMusic(tm)/Finale(tm)) as it becomes a finished product.

Story behind the song
This was initially an assignment, though since then I have made several revisions such as having "A - A' - A" and "B - B' - B" sections rather than just A and B sections, I've added octaves to single notes, etc. I must admit that I'm fond of the ragtime section thrown in the middle of it, and people seem to like that part. The dynamics are pretty close to how I want it to sound, but, unfortunately, Finale dynamics sound rather "forced" and just unnatural. This piece is pretty much through-composed, but it might be considered a scherzo of sorts.
