Contemporary Christian, Praise and Worship
I have always enjoyed music and singing but I have not done much composing until about three years ago.
Story behind the song
I wanted to write a wedding song that emphasized the commitment/choice component of deciding to marry someone, not just the warm fuzzy feelings of love.
Lyrics
I Choose You
by Beverly Hines c. 2008
VERSE:
I used to think it wise to keep my options open,
Afraid to make a promise I might come to regret.
But time's given me new eyes and I've been doing some reflection.
I've searched my heart and found, with you, I want to commit!
CHORUS:
I Choose you,
to sing my heart's song to,
I long to make a home with you.
One built on faithfulness and truth.
Choose me too,
for all your life-long through,
and there will be, with no holds barred,
a permanent place inside my heart for you.
BRIDGE:
And in your love-filled eyes I see
the proof you feel the same for me.
CHORUS:
I Choose you,
to sing my heart's song to,
I long to make a home with you.
One built on faithfulness and truth.
Choose me too,
for all your life-long through,
and there will be, with no holds barred,
a permanent place inside my heart--
And there will be, with no hold barred,
a permanent place inside my heart -- for you.
a permanent place inside my heart -- for you.
a permanent place inside my heart -- for you.
