Deedub is a man on a mission to find enlightenment through music. His music progresses from classic hip-hop such as The Pharcyde and A Tribe Called Quest. His vocals combine west coast slang (think Snoop Dogg/Murs) with east coast rhyme patterns (think Nas/Jay-Z) creating a gritty sound that takes hip-hop back to the basics. Deedub records all his verses in one take to insure an honest product that is reproducible on stage. Deedub was born in Riverside, CA. Birthed by a Mother who would instill the values of the 60’s movement, Deedub learned early about peace and love. Deedub says, “My childhood was filled with love from my family, we were always really tight no matter how much money we had.” His Father was then as he is now, an entrepreneur. Deedub is forever inspired by his Father’s “get out and get it” attitude. Watching his Father put in work to start his own businesses Deedub learned the hustler’s code. He was taught the value of family, respect, humbleness, dedication, and street smarts. These values were evident in Deedub’s earliest raps written during 9th grade at Temecula Valley High School, a place he viewed as a part-time jail. When asked about his childhood Deedub says, “I am really thankful that my parents let me grow and become my own person without pushing doctrine upon me.” The history of the PBC, After finishing high school, Deedub moved to Long Beach, CA. Understanding the value of education he attended CSULB where he connected with LA rapper Double A. The duo bonded through musical chemistry while performing freestyle sessions for fellow dorm residents every Thursday night. This led to the formation of their group the Point Blank Coalition (PBC) in 2001. Deedub and Double A both graduated with prestigious mumbo jumbo and degrees in Geology and Political Science, respectively. After graduation Double A took the opportunity presented to him to attend Harvard Law School while Deedub went to work for a geotechnical engineering firm. Unhappy with corporate constraints, Deedub felt a connection with LA street entrepreneurs. Deedub says, “There was something about my hustling the music and their hustling swag that caught my spirit. I knew I could learn something from their approach to life.” During the summer of ’07 Deedub met the Arabic singer Anti (www.myspace.com/itaal) and the PBC gained a new member. The crew was strong with Deedub investing money in studio time, Double A graduating from Harvard, and Anti finding his voice. However, the PBC had become tied into a world of negativity. It has taken considerable time for the crew to emerge from the underworld and realize their purpose as musicians. Today the PBC is focused on making music that encourages people to be free, united, and bright. The PBC music encourages love of one’s self and love of one’s fellow brothers and sisters. Hate is the common enemy for all people who stand with the PBC against the brainwashing of society. “I’ve always had my soul in the music but now my body and mind are there 100 percent also, that’s gonna show in the product to come,” Deedub asserts when asked about his love of music. Deedub started hitting stages in the LA basin during June '08. His most notable shows to date were opening for hip-hop veterans Dead Prez at The Blue Café in Long Beach and performing at KROQ SoCal Rock Revolution at Hollywood Park. Deedub will be showcasing his love live on stages all over Southern California in the months to come. All are welcome and encouraged to party with the PBC. Deedub’s album “The New Age of Enlightenment Vol. I” is now available at Fingerprints and VIP Records, both located in Long Beach. His music is also available at www.myspace.com/deedubrecords with links to i-tunes and free downloads updated weekly. Adamantine Entertainment is set to release “The New Age of Enlightenment Vol. II” in December 08. Stay tuned in. 2009 is slated to be a growing year for Adamantine Entertainment. ALL PBC MUSIC IS REGISTERED WITH THE UNITED STATES COPYRIGHT OFFICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 17.
