I wrote this song in 1989 when I was 11 years old. I kept this melody in my head for years and years and finally transcribed it into sheet music in 1998 when I was in college and recorded this in 2002. See story page for details.
Bizarre experimental electronica.
We are an experimental outfit from Houston,Texas. Our music sounds different from anything else out there-which is a good thing! We're written/recorded over 300 songs since 2001; on this site is but a sample of our material.
Story behind the song
I first began hearing music in my head at 11 years old. Original music, not anything I heard on the radio (although listening to some of the recordings that I did years later, there sure are some borrowed melodies it seems!). I began humming melodies into a little handheld tape recorder I always carried with me. Soon, I began an entire suite of music, and had the entire thing written in my head. I envisioned what I guess would be considered a concept album. Around the same time, I also began writing a short story, which turned into a longer story, which became a novel, and which is now a series of them. Have been meaning to publish them, and maybe I will some day. Anyway, to make a long story short, this track is part of that concept album, which is not entirely a standalone track;rather it is more like a soundtrack to the novel. In any case, what I did when my wife and our friend Raymond first started making music together as Fear 2 Stop, way back in 2001, I took those tapes, along with sheet music I had written in college, and painstakingly transcribed them to actual music. Since I was inspired as a kid by Nintendo game music, I intentionally made the work sound retro and child-like. This track is a small excerpt from that work, although others have been uploaded to this site already (Interstellar Bounce is one, although that is an entire re-working).
