Led to this by Ludwick's contest. This is a tasty bit of Prog!! Love all the elements here!!
Your production is imaculate, the song is intense, and the playing makes me envious. Great song!

I think Andreas called you mad. And genius. Except he used more words!!! I was also thinking Frank Zappa..... and I agree with Andreas! - John
Platypus is an instrumental with approximately 1268 musical ideas in opposition to somehting like 4 or 5 that make the average pop song work. So what we deal with here is not POP or ROCK in a sense of popular music that everybody can understand while listening for the first time. No SIR no way. Here´s rich polyrythmic structures performed by solid rock drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars (those played on the hightest technical level!) What else happens here: Water, Platypus (I guess), functional vocals building a bridge to the next SPANISH part, that again is followed by a hard/rock-punky element. I am somewhat reminded of 70s/80s music, King Crimson, a French band you propably don´t know of called GONG and, regarding very radid changes in the flow Frank Zappa of course. You hardly get to hear this ART- ROCK music anymore. Is it a lack of skill on the side of the musicians, is it a lack of interest on the side of the potential audience. I don´t know. One thing
