I have been a musician - performer and composer - for close to 50 years, and I've been playing guitar for about 42 of those years. I have become mostly a player of Blues as of late and recently was invited to be the lead guitarist of a revived Blues-Rock 60's band. This picture is of me, and yes, Les Paul! And that's my Les Paul Deluxe, which I play along with my Clapton signature stratocaster.

Story behind the song

This is my song to my father Vincent - "Daddy"- played over a backing that my friend Hans shared with me that I very much wanted to play over.   What you're hearing are 3 tracks over that backing, each done in one take, no retakes, 5 minutes each, in 15 minutes it was "finished".  

That has never happened before. It's different than anything I've played before, and I think it is because of my father, what he's gone through this summer, and his passing.  This is really not grounded as usual but much freer.  Perhaps too much so, but that's what came out and nothing else wants to follow it from my heart, so even if only I like it, it is as it is, and it IS Daddy... it IS how he was the last 3 months, not grounded, free in a way in his mind to go places he had never been before and finally cutting the bounds to this world altogether one Saturday and going on his own way to his own world.  

I'm rambling now - as he did since he fell last May - so my music for him had to come out when it did so it could leave with him. 

I love you Daddy - take this with you and never forget me.
