Come Rewrite the Rest of My Life (sax)

Someone new in the faith might look back and say this about their old ('man') life. Though the voice is between God and man, it is about the horizontal, person-to-person relations, and about one's own natural life, rather than the eternal. Peop

Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
This started as a dream about a song rewrite. I woke up with the chorus melody which I transfered quickly to my keyboard. As it developed, the song itself became a metaphor.
Lyrics
Come Rewrite the Rest of My Life Chorus: Oh Lord, come rewrite the rest of my life I am improvised in the dark, not Your light Come rewrite the rest of my life You're the Author who makes all things turn out right verse 1: Your ounce of restoration is worth a pound of strife And then Your restitution will make the burden light I'll do as much as a man can do I'll offer peace with the people who - I will meet - From now on (chorus) verse 2: A 'search my heart' confession is healthy for the soul And 'keep it real' compassion will make Your Spirit grow But it's not just an apology It's the proof Your Spirit lives in me It's from You, Lord Through and through (chorus) Bridge: Yes, You died for me And You paid my price And You cleaned my heart Now, in sympathy How, I see their eyes Yes, I'll do my part (chorus) (chorus) (ending) copyright David Davis 2008 http://postadavisongs.50webs.com/ComeAndWriteTheRestMyLife.html
