Lyrics
Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev (1803 - 1873) I love your eyes, my friend, With their game ardently-wonderful, When you suddenly raise them And, as if heavenly lightning, flashing suddenly over all... But more strongly enchanting: Eyes, directed low, In moments passionate kiss, And through the lowered eyelashes Gloomy, dim fire of desire. (Translation by the Composer)
