A song we wrote about an occupy style protest outside of a food store in 1992...more relevant today than ever...

While I have played in a band most of my performing life, I am still writing songs as a solo artist and plan on continuing. I was the lead singer for the band Perfect Crime in both of it's incarnations beginning in NY in 1986. When I moved to NJ in 1989, I began writing with guitarist Jeff Parsons and began a new lineup of Perfect Crime. We played throughout NY and NJ through the better part of the 90's with weekly gigs at the legendary Stone Pony and other Jersey shore clubs.

Story behind the song
This song was born out of a jam session from words I wrote down after getting home from a trip to the market. I was accosted at the stores entry by sign toting, flyer waving demonstrators yelling at me not to shop at the store because that location was guilty of what they believed to be unfair labor practices. I just needed a carton of milk...come on guys...
Lyrics
I'm seein' people meetin' on the street They say there's strength in numbers They got agendas all screwed up Are they going or coming? Don't understand their fighting They'll never settle a thing Leave it alone it will all go away If we all join the right wing Well I protest to your protest Leave me alone I've got my own way of dealin' with things From safe inside my home yeah I don't understand what's your plan? You got a better way? Hold up your posters about what's wrong But still got nothing to say There's no voice for the one who's left Outside a mob I'm more concerned with the things that count And not a rotten job Well I protest to your protest Ahhh leave me alone I've got my own way of dealing with things From safe inside my home I protest to your protest Don't make me take a side Sorry I can't join your fight I just don't have the time yeah
