A song about gambling ...for a living

While I have played in a band most of my performing life, I am still writing songs as a solo artist and plan on continuing. I was the lead singer for the band Perfect Crime in both of it's incarnations beginning in NY in 1986. When I moved to NJ in 1989, I began writing with guitarist Jeff Parsons and began a new lineup of Perfect Crime. We played throughout NY and NJ through the better part of the 90's with weekly gigs at the legendary Stone Pony and other Jersey shore clubs.

I like this one a lot. It reminds me of some old Foghat. The drums and bass are tight and lay down a solid foundation for some killer guitar work. The vocals are clear and pronounced. The song writing, arrangement and performance are excellent. The hook is very effective and the double kick drum breaks add a nice dynamic touch. Might I add that I love the ending, it really left me wanting more. The sound quality is not the best I've heard but it certainly is OK. Everything else is so good that feel obliged to rate this at... 5 stars ++ Great job Roxie A couple suggestions and remember that this is my ears not everyones. I hear some high end hiss mostly noticeable at the intro you might want to roll back some of the highs. The overall mix is a little harsh to (I repeat) my ears. You might want to roll back the upper mids to mellow the sound a little. I wouldn't touch anything unless you agree or others tell you the same. There is some heavy clipping in some of the low mids
