Story behind the song
Ow Avon Splann is a firm favourite in the Cornish language community for its simple, haunting melody and touching feel. I originally wanted to create a simple guitar version for people to learn to sing along with at get togethers but it developed into this version. This is a tribute to Brian whom, I regret, I never had the chance to meet but his legacy is felt very strongly through the music he recorded and the fond memories of many people whose lives and hearts he touched. I hope this goes some way to do justice to his creation.
