I'm a forty-something hired gun that's been around for a long time on the Australian circuit. I have a 20 year history of working with James Reyne (still current) but I've also had stints with Daryl Braithwaite, Ross Wilson, Vika and Linda Bull, Renee Geyer, Joe Camilleri and a number of other 'heritage' acts.

Story behind the song
James very kindly asked for song submissions from my brother and I while we were recording Speedboats For Breakfast in 2004. I had this music and a melody but it was a little quicker paced than you hear here. I think it was James that suggested I slow it down a little. Anyway, in the space of an afternoon and the next day I managed to put down all the guitars, bass, drums (with the help of Scott) and keys and sing it too. James thought my vocal was apt and he decided that it should stick. So I straightened the vocal out a bit (thanks Autotune..) sang some harmonies and stuck a solo on the end. The lyrics were made up as I was driving to Scott's on the morning we started recording it. I'd like to give a HUGE thanks to James for letting this track appear on the album. He certainly didn't have a reason to put it on since he didn't appear on it himself but I appreciate the gesture greatly. Now all I have to do is write 10 more for my own album. Soon, soon.. :)
