Artist picture
Cool, sophisticated UK singer and songwriter with a fresh approach to jazz.
Juliet Kelly is a cool, sophisticated singer and songwriter with a fresh approach to jazz. She is an artist with universal appeal that goes for beyond the usual jazz audience. Her debut album "Aphrodite's Child" introduced her original songwriting style with beautiful, haunting vocals floating over laid back grooves. Her second album "Delicious Chemistry" further showcased her talent for writing accessible laid-back jazz. Her new album "Licorice Kiss" to be released early in 2009 is her most ambitious yet. Referencing influences as diverse as Soul II Soul, the Eurythmics and Soft Cell, she offers up her own take on some 80’s classics alongside her own creations that range from toe-tapping grooves to latin-inflected ballads.

Story behind the song
Sometimes you can see someone making a choice in life that you know is all wrong but there's nothing you can do to stop them... People whether they be lovers, friends or family have to learn from their own mistakes. But when it's all over - you can let them know you'll still be there...
Lyrics
Verse Nothing I could say Could make you see my way You were - oh so sure And I could do no more Many things have changed Since those happy days Time has been unkind Your life has lost it’s shine Chorus I’m still here Keeping the memories warm I’m still here As your port in a storm Though your pride Is battered and bruised I’m still here for you Verse We can’t see through time Or read each other’s minds So mistakes are made And light can turn to shade Your feelings were so strong But you got it so wrong Don’t need you to explain Not here to judge or blame Chorus Ending Keeping memories warm I’ll be your port in a storm Be there for you I won’t judge or blame So there’s no need to explain I’m here for you You made a mistake And I felt my heart break I was low, oh so blue Missing you, you, you There’ll never be a day I could ever turn you away I’ll still be here for you © 2008 J Kelly
