Almost every song has a phrase that makes a person recognize it as unique...a hook. Something that makes you sing it in your head...even when it's not being played aloud!

Randy G-Solo Acoustic Guitar-Harmonica Like to play song mostly related to trying to make this world a better place to live in.
I'm an solo acoustic guitar/harmonica player. I'm interested in introducing my original material to a broader audience then my living room! I've played with several bands over the last 25 years or so. Sally and I are currently involved in a band called 4Way....loosely based in Punxutawney, other members are Mike and Jeanie Kurtz. In September 2011, I was been asked to fill in for Jessie DeChurch in a high profile Classic rock band in the Punxutawney area know as Mid-Life Crisis. Jesse is having some health issues that hopefully are temporary, but the Musicains in this band are EXCELLENT! Mike Kurtz on bass, John Keeley on keys, Dave Buzard lead guitar and Phil Cushing on drums. Follow the Mid-Life Crisis news and schedule by looking up the band name on Facebook.

Story behind the song
My brother-in-law (Ben Wright) mentioned the concept of "the hook" in a song...so I wrote a song about it.
Lyrics
How many times I sat around Just biding my time Trying to think of a catchy tune To get inside your mind A hook in your heart A hook in your heart So I sit in my room Playing this tune I want to put it through to your heart Music has an attraction to me A pleasant sound to my ear Harmony I want to share with you While we thoughtfully pass our years A hook in your heart A hook in your heart So I play and I sing A message of hope And I'm trying to pluck at your heart Plant the hook in your mind Plant the words in your dictionary Could it be so refined That it helps your focus stay Music is such a large part of life May it help our aspirations A strong point of view From our memory of tunes Builds up an attitude that's great And attitude that radiates Well the message is short The end of my report Hope the idea is sown in you So when you wake in the morn And your mind starts to turn Music will carry you through A hook in your heart A hook in your heart The jukebox in your mind Can stay on-line And be a lift for your heart A hook in your heart A hook in your heart So i sit in my room And hope that my tune Will be a hook in our heart
