GrassStreet Bluegrass Band
GrassStreet, from central North Carolina, has a contemporary bluegrass format based on traditional styling with a modern presentation vocally and instrumentally. The material for this band is a mixture of bluegrass standards and original compositions combined with a crowd-pleasing stage show. GrassStreet is a derivative of the band Swift Run that has performed regionally since the early ‘80s with two albums to their credit and numerous awards. GrassStreet’s newest release, "Better Times", was released August of 2004. This CD is all straight ahead driving bluegrass. All but two of the cuts will be original material or original arangements. "Acoustic Pathways", released December '03, is centered on both original and other selections Wayne & David Kinton have performed since they started playing together. An all-acoustic project with a distinct bluegrass flavor, "Acoustic Pathways" contains elements of blues, swing, gospel, and jazz. Individually, as members of other groups, each member of GrassStreet has performed in about every bluegrass band situation imaginable. Members of GrassStreet are: Wayne Kinton, guitar; David Kinton, bass; Jason Jones, mandolin; Ricky Hargis, banjo; Kevin Tompkins, dobro. For more information visit www.grassstreet.net

True Story
Lyrics
chorus As I turned the frail pages Some torn & gone away Made me think of the message it would say Songs of faith….songs of love Songs of blessings from above Gods words in music for everyone to hear 1- Down a two-lane country road to the homeplace A cold December wind begins to blow Precious thoughts & memories fill my heart Of simple times when life was slow Old photographs on the wall tell a story Proud family ties through out year by year I looked & saw grandma’s hymnbook in the hall I gently touched it as my eye felt a tear 2- Rock of ages cleft for me, hide myself in Thee God’s grace is promised to us all On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross Tells of Jesus’ suffering & loss What a friend we have in Jesus All our sins & griefs to bear Taught us on this earth we’re not alone When we take it to the Lord in prayer
