Stop the persecution.
Greetings! I hope you will take a moment to watch the video to Call to Conscience, here or in hi-res on youtube. I'll tell you about these songs, but please don't let that scare you away from listening to them. My songs were written to draw attention to the severe persecution that's been taking place in China since 1999 against practitioners of the gentle qigong practice Falun Gong. I started practicing Falun Gong in 2002 after an acupuncturist I'd been seeing for shoulder and back surf injuries told me I'd never need to see her again if I tried this practice. I was skeptical, but since it was free, I went to a local exercise site. What she said turned out to be true...I never needed to see her again for treatment! Since I've been practicing Falun Gong freely in the U.S., practitioners in China have been tortured, murdered, and even forcibly had their organs removed and sold for profit. On the threshold of the Olympics in Beijing, these crimes against humanity are still taking place in China. Because so many major media outlets are either sponsoring the Olympics or seek to maintain good relations with China for the sake of business, information about the persecution has been censored out of the news. This is an attempt to get the word out, despite the major media blackout. Recorded on Garage Band with only a midi and cheap walkman headphones, this album is part of the story of Falun Gong cultivation practice and the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Thank you for listening. Please help spread the word towards ending the persecution.

Story behind the song
Like the lotus flower that grows up out of the dirty mud, on the way up all the dirt runs off the flower and the flower remains pure and as indestructible as a diamond. This is what Falun Gong cultivation is about. To become, in the midst of this world’s difficulties and conflicts, firmly upright and noble in heart and moral character; to leave aspiration, competition and selfish motives behind. In this way, a person’s original, good nature can come forth. Harmony will dominate the human mind, which makes it possible to be able to think of others before one’s self. In all situations, to practice Falun Gong is to try to act according to the universal principle: Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance). Falun Dafa practitioners have always resisted the violent and irrational persecution against them peacefully, with uncompromising courage and inner strength. Falun Gong practitioners have responded to hatred, slander, theft, and the most inhuman torture imaginable by peacefully clarifying the facts about the persecution to people throughout the world while endeavoring to embody Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance (Zhen-Shan-Ren). Since the persecution began in July of 1999, practitioners have held numerous peaceful appeals and provided people truthful information by means of candlelight vigils, grand parades, silent appeals in front of Chinese Consulates and embassies, and by offering free workshops, informational forums, and live-anti-torture exhibitions.
